What we actually do with your data

Your chat export

When you upload a conversation, we process it in memory to generate your report. In Flash mode (the default), the file is gone the moment processing finishes. We never write it to disk. We never store it. We never read it ourselves.

Deep mode (optional)

If you choose to store your conversation so you can ask questions and revisit it later, we encrypt it and store it on our servers. Only you can access it. You can delete it at any time. We will never use it to train AI models, sell it, share it, or look at it.

Your email

If you create an account, we store your email address. We use it to send you your report link and occasional product updates. You can unsubscribe from updates at any time. We will never sell or share your email.

AI processing

We send your chat content to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the analysis. Anthropic processes it under their API terms, which prohibit using API inputs to train their models. Your conversation is not used to make Claude smarter.

What we never do

We never sell your data. We never share it with advertisers. We never use it to train models. We never read your private messages ourselves. The people who built this app have no access to your conversations.

1. Who we are

entendre.io ("entendre", "we", "us", "our") is an online service that analyzes chat exports to generate relationship reports. Our contact email for privacy matters is privacy@entendre.io.

2. What data we collect

Account information

If you create an account, we collect your email address. We do not collect your name, phone number, or any payment information beyond what is required to process a transaction (handled by our payment processor).

Chat exports (Flash mode)

When you upload a chat export in Flash mode, the file is loaded into memory on our servers solely for the purpose of generating your report. It is not written to disk, not logged, not stored in any database, and is deleted from memory as soon as processing is complete. We have no record that it existed.

Chat exports (Deep mode)

If you explicitly enable Deep mode, your chat export is encrypted and stored on our servers so you can return to it, ask questions, and update it over time. This storage is opt-in and requires your affirmative action. You may delete your stored conversations at any time from your account settings, and we will permanently delete them within 30 days.

Usage data

We collect minimal technical data required to operate the service: your IP address (not stored persistently), browser type, and the fact that an analysis was requested (not what was analyzed). We do not use third-party analytics trackers.

Credits and billing

If you purchase credits, payment is processed by our payment provider. We store only the result of that transaction (credits added to your account). We do not store your full card number.

3. How we use your data

  • ·To generate your relationship analysis report.
  • ·To allow you to access stored conversations and ask follow-up questions (Deep mode only).
  • ·To manage your account and credits.
  • ·To send you transactional emails (report ready, account-related notices).
  • ·To send product updates if you have opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time).
  • ·To operate, maintain, and improve the service.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or to train AI models.

4. AI processing and third parties

To generate your report, we send the contents of your chat export to Anthropic, PBC via their Claude API. Anthropic processes this data as a data processor on our behalf. Under Anthropic's API usage policy, inputs sent via the API are not used to train their models. We do not send your chat data to any other third party.

We use a payment processor to handle billing. We do not share your conversation data with our payment processor.

5. Data retention

  • ·Flash mode conversations: deleted immediately after processing. No retention period applies.
  • ·Deep mode conversations: retained until you delete them, or until you close your account.
  • ·Account information (email): retained for as long as your account is active.
  • ·Billing records: retained as required by law (typically 7 years).

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@entendre.io. We will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Security

All data transmitted to and from entendre.io is encrypted in transit via TLS. Stored conversations (Deep mode) are encrypted at rest. We follow industry-standard security practices and limit access to personal data to only those systems that require it. No human employee has routine access to your conversation content.

8. Children

entendre.io is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, please contact us at privacy@entendre.io and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email (if you have an account) and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
