What we actually do with your data
Without an account
Your chat export is processed in memory and gone the moment the analysis finishes. We never write it to disk. The report lives in your browser session only — close the tab and it's gone. Nothing is stored on our servers.
With an account
When you sign in, your analyses are saved to your account automatically — so you can return to them, use your Advisor, and access them across devices. Only you can see them. You can delete any analysis at any time. We never share it, sell it, or use it for anything other than serving you.
Your email
If you sign in, we store your email address to identify your account. We will never sell or share it, and we won't spam you.
AI processing — and why your data stays yours
We use Gemini, running on Google Cloud's Vertex AI platform. Google Cloud's data processing terms explicitly prohibit Google from using your data to train or improve AI models. Your conversation is not used to make any AI smarter. This is a contractual guarantee baked into the platform we chose specifically for this reason.
What we never do
We never sell your data. We never share it with advertisers. We never use it to train models. We never read your private messages ourselves. The people who built this app have no routine access to your conversations.

1. Who we are
entendre.io ("entendre", "we", "us", "our") is an online service that analyzes chat exports to generate relationship reports. Our contact email for privacy matters is privacy@entendre.io.
2. What data we collect
Without an account
When you upload a chat export without signing in, the file is loaded into memory solely to generate your report. It is not written to disk, not logged, not stored in any database, and is discarded as soon as processing is complete. The report is stored temporarily in your browser session only.
With an account (signed-in users)
When you sign in and run an analysis, we save a structured record of that analysis to your account. This includes the report content, message metadata (timestamps, sender labels, character counts), and a sample of message text used to power your Advisor. You can delete any saved analysis at any time from My Relationships.
Account information
If you create an account via Google sign-in, we collect your email address. We do not collect your name, phone number, or payment information.
Usage data
We collect minimal technical data required to operate the service: your IP address (not stored persistently), browser type, and aggregate analytics via PostHog. We do not log the contents of your conversations.
3. How we use your data
- ·To generate your relationship analysis report.
- ·To allow signed-in users to revisit past analyses and use the Advisor.
- ·To manage your account.
- ·To send transactional emails (account-related notices only).
- ·To operate, maintain, and improve the service.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or to train AI models.
4. AI processing and third parties
To generate your report and power the Advisor, we send your chat content to Gemini, running on Google Cloud's Vertex AI. Google Cloud processes this data as a data processor on our behalf under the Google Cloud Data Processing Addendum, which explicitly prohibits Google from using customer data to train or improve its AI models. Your conversation content is not used to improve any AI system.
We use Google OAuth for sign-in. Google receives only what is necessary to authenticate you. We do not share your conversation content with Google as part of the sign-in process.
5. Data retention
- ·Without an account: no data is retained. The chat export and report are discarded when your browser session ends.
- ·With an account: analyses are saved until you delete them or close your account.
- ·Account information (email): retained for as long as your account is active.
- ·Billing records: retained as required by applicable law.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time. Signed-in users can delete individual analyses directly from My Relationships. To delete your account or request a full data export, email privacy@entendre.io. We will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
7. Security
All data transmitted to and from entendre.io is encrypted in transit via TLS. Stored analyses are encrypted at rest. We follow industry-standard security practices and limit access to personal data to only those systems that require it. No human employee has routine access to your conversation content.
8. Children
entendre.io is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, please contact us at privacy@entendre.io and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email (if you have an account) and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
